Unveiling the LG Accountability Report on AI Ethics: Lessons from the Frontlines

· On-Demand

In the corporate sector, the discourse on AI ethics is evolving from simply establishing AI ethics principles to reporting the outcomes of implementing these principles. This shift underscores the necessity for transparency, leading to initiatives that openly communicate the results of AI ethics implementation to the public and external stakeholders.

LG AI Research has developed and implemented a three-pronged strategy focused on governance, research, and engagement to uphold AI ethics principles, culminating in the publication of the Accountability Report on AI Ethics in February 2024. This report was prepared in accordance with the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, unanimously adopted by 193 member states in 2021, and South Korea’s National Guidelines for AI Ethics.

With many companies already publishing AI ethics reports, the Accountability Report stands as a new milestone for being the first report crafted in accordance with UNESCO's Recommendation. This session will present the challenges, lessons learned, and future tasks encountered in the process of establishing and executing AI ethics implementation strategies in the corporate field. Productive discussions are anticipated to collaboratively develop new standards for AI ethics implementation reporting.
